Did Prophets Sin ?

Did prophets sinned ?

(Date written : 23 May 2015)

1) Before we get the answer, let us understand what Sin is.

2) There are many words in Arabic that Allah uses in the Quran but the translation all translated to SIN.

a) SIN = KHOT°II`AT from the root word = KHO T°OO HAMZAH

Al-Baqara : 81

● Yes, whoever earns EVIL (SAIYI`ATA) and his SIN (KHOT°II`AT)  has encompassed him - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally. ●

Al-Baqara : 58

● And [recall] when We said, "Enter this city and eat from it wherever you will in [ease and] abundance, and enter the gate prostrating and say, 'Repentence.' We will [then] forgive your SINS (KHOT°OYAA) for you, and We will increase the doers of good [in goodness and reward]." ●

b) SIN = ITHM

Al-Baqara : 181

● Then whoever alters the bequest after he has heard it - the SIN (ITHM) is only upon those who have altered it. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing. ●

Al-Baqara : 188

● And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly or send it [in bribery] to the rulers in order that [they might aid] you [to] consume a portion of the wealth of the people in SIN (ITHM), while you know [it is unlawful]. ●

Al-Maaida : 2

● .. And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in SIN (ITHM) and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty. ●

An-Nisaa : 20

● But if you want to replace one wife with another and you have given one of them a great amount [in gifts], do not take [back] from it anything. Would you take it in injustice and a CLEAR (MUBIIN) SIN (ITHM) ? ●

Al-Maaida : 29

● Indeed I want you to obtain [thereby] my SIN (ITHM) and your SIN (ITHM) so you will be among the companions of the Fire. And that is the recompense of wrongdoers." ●

Al-Baqara : 283

● And if you are on a journey and cannot find a scribe, then a security deposit [should be] taken. And if one of you entrusts another, then let him who is entrusted discharge his trust [faithfully] and let him fear Allah, his Lord. And do not conceal testimony, for whoever conceals it - his HEART (QALBU) IS SINFUL (ITHM), and Allah is Knowing of what you do. ●

Al-Baqara : 173

● He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], there is no SIN (ITHM) upon him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. ●

c) SIN = ZUNUB

Al-Maaida : 18

● But the Jews and the Christians say, "We are the children of Allah and His beloved." Say, "Then why does He punish you for your SINS (ZUNUUB)?" Rather, you are human beings from among those He has created. He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and to Him is the [final] destination. ●

Aal-i-Imraan : 16

● Those who say, "Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our SINS (ZUNUB) and protect us from the punishment of the Fire," ●

RABBANA INNANA AMANNA FAGHFIRLANA ZUNUUBANA WAQINA 'AZABANNAR.

Aal-i-Imraan : 135

● And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their SINS (ZUNUUB)- and who can forgive sins except Allah? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know. ●

d) SIN = HUUBAN from root word HA WAW BA.

An-Nisaa : 2

● And give to the orphans their properties and do not substitute the defective [of your own] for the good [of theirs]. And do not consume their properties into your own. Indeed, that is ever a great SIN (HUUBAN). ●

-----
My deduction on all the above verses is that ZUNUB, HUB, ITHM, KHOT°I`AT are all categories of SINS.

-----

3) Let us see from the verses of Allah, what the Prophet and Messengers of Allah had done that may be or can be related to SIN :

a) The story of Prophet and Messenger Adam PBUH :

Al-Baqara : 35

● And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers (Z°OLIMIN)." ●

Al-A'raaf : 19

● And "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers (Z°OLIMIN)." ●

Taa-Haa : 117

● So We said, "O Adam, indeed this [Iblis/Syaitan] is an enemy to you and to your wife. Then let him not remove you from Paradise so you would suffer. ●

Taa-Haa : 118

● Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein or be unclothed. ●

Taa-Haa : 119

● And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun." ●

Taa-Haa : 120

● Then Satan whispered (WASWAS) to him; he said, "O Adam, shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?" ●

Al-A'raaf : 20

● But Satan (SYAITAN) whispered (WASWAS) to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal." ●

Taa-Haa : 121

● And Adam and his wife ate of it, and their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And Adam disobeyed ('AS°OO) his Lord and ERRED (GHOWAA). ●

Al-A'raaf : 22

● So he made them fall, through DECEPTION (GHURUR). And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?" ●

Al-Baqara : 36

● But SATAN (SYAITAN) caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been. And We said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time." ●

Al-Baqara : 37

● Then Adam received from his Lord [some] WORDS (KALIMAT), and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. ●

Al-A'raaf : 23

● They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers (KHOSIRIIN)." ●

Rabbana Z°olamna Anfusana Wa Illam Taghfirlana Wa Tarhamna Lanakunanna Minal Khisiriin.

Taa-Haa : 122

● THEN his Lord CHOSE him and turned to him in FORGIVENESS and GUIDED [him]. ●

------
b) The story of Prophet and Messenger Yunus PBUH :

As-Saaffaat : 139

● And indeed, Jonah (YUNUS) was among the MESSENGERS (MURSALIN). ●

As-Saaffaat : 140

● when he ran away to the laden ship. ●

As-Saaffaat : 141

● And he drew lots and was among the losers. ●

As-Saaffaat : 142

● Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. ●

As-Saaffaat : 143

● And had he not been of those who EXALT Allah (MUSBIHIN), ●

MUSBIHIN = people who TASBIH.

As-Saaffaat : 144

● He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. ●

Al-Anbiyaa : 87

● And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in ANGER (GHODIBA) and ASSUME (Z°ON) that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no god except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers (Z°OLIMIIN)." ●

LA ILAHA ILLA ANTA. SUBHANAKA. INNI KUNTU MINAZZ°OLIMIN.

Al-Anbiyaa : 88

● So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers. ●

As-Saaffaat : 145

● But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. ●

As-Saaffaat : 146

● And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. ●

As-Saaffaat : 147

● And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. ●

As-Saaffaat : 148

● And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. ●

-----

4) In this verse below, Allah mentions that Prophet and Messenger Adam PBUH has DISOBEYED ('AS°OO) and ERRED :

Taa-Haa : 121

● And Adam and his wife ate of it, and their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And Adam DISOBEYED ('AS°OO) his Lord and ERRED (GHOWAA). ●

Let us look at the other related verses of the word 'AS°OO or DISOBEY:

Aal-i-Imraan : 112

● They have been put under humiliation [by Allah] wherever they are overtaken, except for a covenant from Allah and a rope from the Muslims. And they have drawn upon themselves anger from Allah and have been put under destitution. That is because they disbelieved in the verses of Allah and killed the prophets without right. That is because they DISOBEYED ('AS°AU) and transgressed. ●

An-Nisaa : 14

● And whoever DISOBEYS (YA'S°I) Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits - He will put him into the Fire to abide eternally therein, and he will have a humiliating punishment. ●

Al-An'aam : 15

● Say, "Indeed I fear, if I should DISOBEY ('AS°OITU) my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day." ●

Maryam : 44

● O my father, do not worship Satan. Indeed Satan has ever been, to the Most Merciful, DISOBEDIENT ('AS°IYYA). ●

From the verses of Allah, it is clear that Adam, has DISOBEYED ('AS°O) Allah.

5) Is Disobeyed ('AS°OO) a SIN ?

YES. Because the punishment is Hell Fire.

Al-Jinn : 23

● But [I have for you] only notification from Allah, and His messages." And whoever DISOBEYS (YA'S°I) Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, for him is the fire of Hell; they will abide therein forever. ●

And Hell Fire is for the people who commit SINS :

Al-Baqara : 81

● Yes, whoever earns EVIL (SAIYI`ATA) and his SIN (KHOT°II`AT)  has encompassed him - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally. ●

6) But in the case of Prophet and Messenger Adam PBUH, he committed the SIN before he was made the Prophet.

Adam repented after committed the SIN and Allah Forgive His SINS :

Al-Baqara : 37

● Then Adam received from his Lord [some] WORDS (KALIMAT), and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. ●

Then Allah chooses him to be the Prophet and Messenger = GUIDED him :

Taa-Haa : 122

● THEN his Lord CHOSE him and turned to him in FORGIVENESS and GUIDED [him]. ●

All Prophets and Messengers are GUIDED and they dont DISOBEY and DONT COMMIT SINS :

An-Nisaa : 68

● And We would have GUIDED (HADAINA) them to a straight path. ●

An-Nisaa : 69

● And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the PROPHETS (NABI), the steadfast affirmers of truth, the SYUHADA and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions. ●

ALL Prophets and Messengers of Allah are GUIDED and are the ones whom Allah give NIKMAH (Favor).

Not only they don't commit Sins but people have to OBEY the prophet and Messenger of Allah  -  SIMPLY BECAUSE the Prophets and Messengers of ALLAH have been GUIDED.

We cannot OBEY someone who COMMIT SINS. Because someone COMMIT SINS is DISOBEYING ALLAH.

------

7) What about the story of Prophet and Messenger Yunus PBUH ?

From the verses of Allah (above), he is already Prophet and Messenger of Allah when he RAN WAY in ANGER and was thrown out of the ship and swallowed by a Fish called NUN.

He is NOT DISOBEYING ALLAH. There is no word in Al-Quran that described him as 'AS°OO or DISOBEYED. He was anger BECAUSE people dont want to listen and follow and obey him which MEANS he asked PEOPLE TO OBEY ALLAH.

And then HE ASSUMMED (Z°ON) that it was okay to leave his tasks and Allah would not decree anything on him.

But, he admitted his mistakes by feeling anger and FOLLOW his ASSUMPTION and  THUS being 'Z°OLIM to his soul' by doing that (anger and not PATIENT) and Allah forgives him.

[And THIS (witings below), is STRICTLY My OPINION (because I dont have ENOUGH EVIDENCE to call it as DEDUCTION) - people can argue on this -

So, ANGER inside us, is NOT CONSIDERED a SIN, but still can be PUNISHABLE if we dont REPENT and admit that it is Wrong to feel Anger. That is called Z°OLIM to ourself.]

May Allah Forgive me for my mistakes if my opinion is WRONG.

MAY ALLAH GIVE HIS MERCY on me.

Al-Baqara : 38

● We said, "Go down from it, all of you. And when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. ●

Al-Baqara : 39

● And those who disbelieve and deny Our VERSES (AYAAT) - those will be companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally." ●
