Who are the UMMATAN WASAT°AN

Al-Baqara : 143
وَكَذٰلِكَ جَعَلْنٰكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُوا شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا ۗ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الْقِبْلَةَ الَّتِى كُنتَ عَلَيْهَآ إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ الرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلٰى عَقِبَيْهِ ۚ وَإِن كَانَتْ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِينَ هَدَى اللَّهُ ۗ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمٰنَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ
● And thus we have made YOU (KUM) A COMMUNITY IN THE MIDDLE (UMMATAN WASAT°AN) that you will be WITNESS (SYUHADA) over the PEOPLE (AN-NAS) and the MESSENGER (RASUL) will be a WITNESS (SYUHADA) over YOU (KUM) [The Witness to the An-Nas]. .. ●
An-Nisaa : 41
فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍۭ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلٰى هٰٓؤُلَآءِ شَهِيدًا
● So how [will it be] when We bring from every COMMUNITY (UMMATIN) a WITNESS (SYAHID) and we bring YOU (KA), against these [WITNESS] as a WITNESS (SYAHIDA)? ●
From the above 2 verses, the definition of UMMATAN WASAT°AN is different than what we are made to understand today.
WASAT°AN means in the MIDDLE. And this Middle UMMAT is a WITNESS to An-Nas (Mankind) while there exist another being called RASUL or MESSENGER, that is WITNESSING the being in the MIDDLE.
The question is - who is that BEING ?
To understand this, we must look at the ELEMENTS of a Human Being. We have 3 physical Elements :
a) The PHYSICAL Element - called BASYAR Or as overall, it is called AN-NAS.
b) The SOUL element - called AN-NAFS.
c) The SPIRITUAL element - called AR-RUH.
The Physical Element is what we can see - like our body - hand, leg, face, etc.
The Soul Element is the AWARENESS of oneself, of our existence, through hearing, seeing and feeling.
The Spiritual Element is something that we cannot FEEL, but we know its existence, based on the verses of Allah and evidence of LIVE and DEATH.
The word in the verse that refer to KUM, translated to YOU ALL, in any verse of Allah, is always referred to our SOUL. Our SOUL is actually our REAL SELF. That is what we are being referred to; always.
The word in the verse that refer to KA, translated as YOU, in any verse of Allah, is referred to either the Prophet and Messenger of Allah OR only the MESSENGER of Allah.
The problem is WHO is the MESSENGER that Allah refers to, in both of the verses ?
IS IT referred to Prophet and Messenger Muhammad PBUH or is it other being, such as Our Spirit, that is ALWAYS inside us, that is the WITNESS to our Soul or Our SELF ?
If we said it is the Prophet and Messenger Muhammad PBUH that is our WITNESS, the prophet and Messenger Muhammad PBUH has already died and he also has 3 Elements of a human being.
It is actually - AR-RUH, the Spiritual Element within Each of us that is ALWAYS being the WITNESS of our SOUL.
The REASON is because AR-RUH is FROM AMR of Allah. And AMR is MESSENGER of Allah as per the following verses :
Al-Israa : 85
وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ الرُّوحِ ۖ قُلِ الرُّوحُ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّى وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا
● And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the SPIRIT (AR-RUH). Say, "The RUH (AR-RUH) is FROM AMR of my Lord. And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little." ●
Ad-Dukhaan : 5
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
● AMRAN from near Us. Indeed, We are sending MESSENGERS (MURSALIN). ●
Ad-Dukhaan : 6
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
● As RAHMAT from your Lord. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. ●
It is CLEAR from the ABOVE VERSES that this AMR, which the EXECUTOR of COMMAND from Allah that is INSIDE us, is the MESSENGER that is sent by Allah to all human being as RASUL or Messenger from Allah to us.
Hence, the SPIRIT or RUH inside us is the RASUL or Messenger of Allah.
How do we know this AMR, is the EXECUTOR of COMMAND from Allah ? It is based on the following verse (and many other similar verses) :
Yaseen : 82
إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيْـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
● Indeed, Only, His AMR (AMRUHU), when He intends a thing that He says to IT [says to AMR], "BE," and it is [AMR executes the COMMAND]. ●
Inside our physical body, this AMR is called RUH (Spirit) and without this RUH, we will DIE. With this RUH inside us, we are ALIVE.
It is this AMR that execute all COMMANDS from Allah with 100% OBEDIENT, without FAIL. That includes all the BIOLOGICAL and CHEMICAL process within our body that we cannot control, for example the production of Enzimes, convertion of food to other biological and chemical elements in our body for example vitamins, antibody, etc.
In short, the RUH inside our body is the ENERGY that we have. Without this ENERGY, we cannot do anything. Below is the verse that tells us that the SPIRIT or RUH is an element inside us as a human being :
As-Sajda : 9
ثُمَّ سَوّٰىهُ وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِهِۦ ۖ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصٰرَ وَالْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
● Then He proportioned him and breathed INTO him from His SPIRIT (RUHIHI) and made for you HEARING and VISION and FEELING (AF`IDAH); little are you grateful. ●
UMMAT does not mean QAUM or people at certain area at certain period of time. UMMAT means the TYPE of creation that Allah creates :
Al-An'aam : 38
وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ فِى الْأَرْضِ وَلَا طٰٓئِرٍ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ إِلَّآ أُمَمٌ أَمْثَالُكُم ۚ مَّا فَرَّطْنَا فِى الْكِتٰبِ مِن شَىْءٍ ۚ ثُمَّ إِلٰى رَبِّهِمْ يُحْشَرُونَ
● And there is no creature on [or within] the earth or bird that flies with its wings except [that they are] COMMUNITIES (UMAMUN) like YOU(KUM). We have not neglected in the Book, a thing. Then unto their Lord they will be gathered. ●
The above verse CLEARLY shows that all animals have SOUL like us human being. KUM in the above verse refers to Our Soul.
The CONCLUSION is, UMMATAN WASAT°AN mentions in the verse of Al-Baqara:143, means OUR SOUL or An-Nafs.
Ar-Ruh ==>An-Nafs ==> An-Nas
Notice that An-Nafs is at the Middle WITNESSING the An-Nas, while Ar-Ruh is WITNESSING the An-Nafs.
It definitely DOES NOT MEAN we are 'Ummat' of Prophet Muhammad PBUH that is the MIDDLE or MODERATE as what normally being understood.
The verse of Allah is CLEAR.
Kullu Nafsin Zaa iqatul maut.
"Every Soul will taste Death".
